Dolphins Extend Ikaika Alama-Francis' Contract

The Miami Dolphins have extended the contract of strong-side linebacker Ikaika Alama-Francis, reports Mike Berardino of the Sun-Sentinel.

Exact terms of the extension are unknown, but NFLPA records indicate that Alama-Francis is now under contract through the 2011 season, with a base salary of $640,000 due to him next season.

Selected with the 58th overall pick of the 2007 NFL Draft out of Hawaii, Alama-Francis totaled 35 tackles and a quarterback sack in 19 games over two seasons before being waived by the Lions a week into the 2009 season.

The Dolphins signed Alama-Francis last November.
