Colts Punter Arrested For Public Intoxication

Indianapolis Colts second-year punter Pat McAfee was arrested for public intoxication in Indianapolis, wishtv.com reports.

Police were called after a wet, shirtless man approached a woman's car at a red light near Broad Ripple Canal.

McAfee initially denied swimming in the canal, chalking up his soaking wet appearance to rain the Indianapolis area did not receive on Tuesday night. McAfee admitted to being drunk, registering a 0.15 on a portable breathalyzer before being taken into custody.

McAfee is the second Colts player to be arrested for public intoxication this season.

Second-year defensive tackle John Gill was arrested on Sunday, August 8 after police discovered him passed out on the side of the road. No charges were filed against Gill, who is currently seeking treatment for alcohol abuse.

A seventh-round pick (222nd overall) out of West Virginia in 2009, McAfee has averaged 36.8 yards on his 88 career punts, putting 29 inside the opponents' 20-yard line. McAfee is also the Colts' kickoff specialist, registering 32 touchbacks on 115 kickoffs over the last two seasons.
