Indianapolis Colts linebacker Gary Brackett has been fined $35,000 for his hit on Tennessee Titans long-snapper Ken Amato on Sunday, The Associated Press reports.
Brackett was flagged for an illegal blindside block on Amato during a return of a missed field goal attempt at the end of the first half. Amato appeared dazed as two members of the training staff assisted him to the locker room.
Amato did not return to the game.
The Associated Press adds that this was the third time Brackett has been fined this season for illegal hits, which perhaps explains the size of Brackett's fine.
"I firmly believe that any man’s finest hour, the greatest fulfillment of all that he holds dear, is that moment when he has worked his heart out in a good cause and lies exhausted on the field of battle – victorious."
