The Kansas City Chiefs announced the signing of free agent cornerback Mike Richardson.

Linebacker Justin Cole has been released.

A 2007 sixth-round pick (202nd overall) out of Notre Dame by the New England Patriots, Richardson has 31 tackles (16 on special teams) in 21 games with the Patriots (2008) and Chiefs (2009). Richardson spent his rookie season on injured reserve (hand).

Chiefs cornerback Brandon Flowers missed Sunday's 42-24 win over the Seattle Seahawks with a hamstring injury. First-year cornerback Jackie Bates injured his knee on Sunday, as well.
