Cardinals Will Not Make Coordinator Change

Arizona Cardinals head coach Ken Whisenhunt will not make a coordinator change, Kent Somers of The Arizona Republic reports.

"I don't believe in that, especially in-season," Whisenhunt said.

One thing that might change is the team's personnel in the backfield.

With Beanie Wells missing Sunday's game with swelling in his knee, the Cardinals dressed three running backs against the Seattle Seahawks. LaRod Stephens-Howling strained a hamstring in the first half, and Jason Wright sustained a concussion in the second, leaving the Cardinals with Tim Hightower and fullback Reagan Maui'a as healthy options in the backfield.

The Cardinals are expected to treat Stephens-Howling and Wright's injury situations with caution this week. Free agent rookie Alfonso Smith, who had 35 yards and a pair of touchdowns for the Cardinals during the pre-season, could be signed to the practice squad or 53-man roster.
