Cardinals Waive LB Cody Brown

Kent Somers of The Arizona Republic reports the Arizona Cardinals have released linebacker Cody Brown.

Brown (6-2, 242) was the 63rd overall pick in the 2009 NFL Draft, and spent his entire rookie season on injured reserve after suffering a gruesome wrist injury that required surgery.

Brown hadn’t done much for the Cardinals this pre-season, but Brown posted 24 quarterback sacks during his four years at UCONN, including 11 as a senior in 2008. Some team will take a closer look at him, provided he’s able to get by the medical check.

The Cardinals have also waived 2009 fifth-round offensive lineman Herman Johnson.
