Cardinals Sign RB Alfonso Smith to Active Roster

The Arizona Cardinals have signed running back Alfonso Smith to their 53-man roster, Smith's agent, Greg Linton, announced.

An undrafted free agent out of the University of Kentucky, Smith (6-1, 208) had 19 carries for 35 yards and a team-high two rushing touchdowns for the Cardinals during the 2010 pre-season. Smith added a 21-yard reception and a 27-yard kick return, but was waived at the end of training camp.

Smith had workouts with the Dallas Cowboys and Houston Texans, and one scheduled with the Tennessee Titans, before the Cardinals signed him to their practice squad on Monday.

Cardinals running backs LaRod Stephens-Howling (hamstring) and Jason Wright (concussion) are "Questionable" for tomorrow's game against the Kansas City Chiefs, so Smith could be making his NFL debut on Sunday.

Wide receiver Max Komar has been waived.
