Cardinals Release CB Brandon McDonald

The Arizona Cardinals have released veteran cornerback Brandon McDonald, replacing him on the 53-man roster with undrafted rookie A.J. Jefferson.
McDonald (5-10, 185) started 27 games during his first three seasons in the NFL before he was placed on waivers at the end of training camp. Claimed by the Cardinals, McDonald was inactive for the first month of the season before dressing for the past two games, posting no statistics in a reserve role.
Jefferson (6-1, 190) signed with the Cardinals as an undrafted free agent out of Fresno State in April, and had 13 tackles, a pass defensed, and a 37-yard kick return during the pre-season.
