Buccaneers Promote LB Tyrone McKenzie

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have promoted linebacker Tyrone McKenzie off the practice squad, Anwar Richardson of The Tampa Tribune reports.
McKenzie adds depth to a linebacker position that lost starting strong-side linebacker Quincy Black to a broken forearm on Sunday.
Chosen by the New England Patriots with the 97th overall pick of the 2009 NF Draft, McKenzie torn an ACL during mini-camp and spent his entire rookie season on injured reserve. McKenzie had 19 tackles and a fumble recovery during the 2010 pre-season, but was unable to crack the 53-man roster and opened the season on New England’s practice squad.
McKenzie asked for, and received, his release from the Patriots in early November.
