To replace veteran defensive tackle Ryan Sims, who was waived on Tuesday, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers have signed defensive tackle Frank Okam off the practice squad, Stephen Holder of the St. Petersburg Times reports.
A fifth-round pick (151st overall) out of Texas A&M by the Houston Texans in 2008, the 6-4, 350-pound Okam totaled five tackles in 13 games before he was placed on waivers on October 25.
Okam spent two weeks with the Seattle Seahawks earlier this month.
Defensive back D.J. Johnson was signed to the Buccaneers’ practice squad.
