Brown Would Be A Great Pickup For the Chiefs

All one needs to do is turn on tape of any of a dozen starting strong safeties to know that Mike Brown should still be starter in the NFL. The Chiefs are wise to bring him in and will most likely end up signing the veteran. Yes, the injury history is there and obviously a concern, but Pioli would be doing right by his players and coaching staff bringing in a guy with a good deal of experience to play alongside a young, rebuilding defense. And it's not like Brown, when he's on the field, is a slouch. The guy is one of the hardest hitters and one of the smarter, more instinctive players I have ever seen in the NFL. Of course, a few of those hits have landed him on IR, but after sitting unsigned in free agency for several months, something tells me the Chiefs could sign him to a club-friendly contract. This would be a great move by the Chiefs.
