Broncos Sign RB Lance Ball

The Denver Broncos have signed running back Lance Ball off their practice squad, Lindsay Jones of the Denver Post reports.

Tight end Daniel Coats, signed on Tuesday, has been released.

An undrafted free agent out of Maryland, the 5-9, 220-pound Ball had 13 carries for 83 yards, and caught one pass for 5 yards in the 2008 regular season finale for the Indianapolis Colts, the only carries he's received in three games on a 45-man gameday roster.

Ball appeared in two games for the Broncos earlier this season, posting a special teams tackle.

In addition to Indianapolis and Denver, Ball has had stints with the St. Louis Rams and Tennessee Titans, spending time on both team's practice squads.
