Denver Broncos rookie cornerback Perrish Cox is scheduled to appear in court on Friday, The Associated Press reports.

Cox, who turns 24 next week, was arrested on December 9 on sexual assault charges related to an incident from late October. Freed on $50,000 bail, Cox's court appearance today is to determine whether or not he'll be allowed to return to his hometown of Waco, Texas while his case is pending.

A 2010 fifth-round pick (137th overall) out of Oklahoma State, Cox started nine of 15 as a rookie, totaling 59 tackles, 1 interception, 14 passes defensed, and a pair of forced fumbles.

Cox also averaged 19.1 yards on 9 kick returns, returned three punts for 7 yards, and four of his 59 tackles were on special teams.
