Bills Claim TE Scott Chandler Off Waivers

David Moore of the Dallas Morning News reports the Buffalo Bills have claimed tight end Scott Chandler off waivers.

The 6-7, 265-pound Chandler was waived on Wednesday by the Dallas Cowboys, who had signed tight end Martin Rucker to the 53-man roster after the Bills had attempted to sign Rucker to their 53-man roster.

A solid blocker, Chandler had appeared in nine games for the Cowboys this season, but had no receiving statistics. The Cowboys had hoped to re-sign Chandler to their practice squad.

Chandler is signed through the end of this season, and is earning a $470,000 base salary.

Earlier today, the Bills announced that they have placed defensive end Dwan Edwards on injured reserve, and signed tight end Mike Caussin off the Jacksonville Jaguars' practice squad. Bills linebacker Reggie Torbor is expected to be out for awhile, and could be placed on injured reserve to add Chandler.
