Bears DE Julius Peppers Fined $10,000

Chicago Bears defensive end Julius Peppers has been fined $10,000 for his helmet-to-helmet hit on Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers in the NFC Championship Game.

Peppers was penalized 15 yards on the fourth quarter play.

After signing a six-year, $91 million contract that included over $20 million in compensation in 2010, $10,000 is sand of a beach for Peppers, who earned $38,000 by playing in Sunday’s title game.

That’s the problem with league fines. For guys like Peppers it’s chump change and certainly isn’t a deterrent. What’s the point.

I agree.. This amount of money means nothing to these guys.. And as long as they are only getting this kind of fine it will never stop.
