Arizona Cardinals head coach Ken Whisenhunt revealed that running back Beanie Wells underwent arthroscopic surgery on his knee earlier this month.
Wells not has not played since injuring the knee during the Cardinals’ pre-season finale on September 2. Wells tells Kent Somers of The Arizona Republic that he had torn meniscus in that knee.
Whisenhunt would not make any guarantees that Wells would play this Sunday against the Oakland Raiders, but is expecting to have him available.
Wells, the team’s first-round pick in 2009, led the Cardinals with 763 rushing yards last season.
