49ers Say There’s No Meeting Scheduled Between Singletary & Balmer

The San Francisco 49ers deny the reports that head coach Mike Singletary has a meeting scheduled with AWOL defensive lineman Kentwan Balmer, Matt Maiocco of CSNBayArea.com reports.

Balmer, who until today had been excused from training camp to tend to a personal issue, told Daniel Brown of the San Jose Mercury News that he had a meeting scheduled with Singletary, and planned to return to the team and play this season.

It would appear as though the team is finished with Balmer, their first-round pick in the 2008 NFL Draft.
