judging from Mike McCarthy’s press conference after last night’s scrimmage it sounds like the coach is already taking some pointers to heart. The tortured language certainly makes it seem like there might be another bombshell coming in this saga, lending credence to reports in both the Journal Sentinel and the Wisconsin State Journal (here and here) that a trade or some other resolution might still be in the offing.

Q.How much time is Ari Fleischer spending in the building? Did he prep you, Mike and Mark before the joint press conference Thursday? What is his role and how long will he remain?

A. He came here to speak to the team. I had like a 30-minute session with him. I don’t know what his role is. (Thompson said he has not seen him in the building of late).
