I have been a hardcore Packer fan since I watched my first game in 97. But this year has been very hard, not because Favre now plays for Packers-lite aka Viqueens, but because of you Packer fans.
I can understand if you are offended by Favre playing for the stinkin' Vikings. I am too, and I wish he played for anyone but the Vikings and Bears.
But my problem has been how you guys seem so ungrateful, petty, bitter and big-city-fan-like through all this. Reading your comments one might think Favre is the worst thing that ever happened to Packers, and he is by far the aboslute worst QB to ever put on a NFL uniform. All the talk about his interceptions and the games HE lost, not a single mention of how Packers wouldn't have been in lot of those games if it wasn't for him. (For doubters I can list stats half-page-long to show how miserable Packers were before Favre got there and how sharp the turnaround was).
Case-in-point, his last game, the NFL championship. That comes up a lot. But no one seems to really remember the game. The total rushing yards in that game - 29!!!!! When McCarthy sends smoke signal to other side letting them know we can't run and we won't try, the defensive line just tee'd off of Packers pass protection. If it wasn't for Favre (and Tynes miss), Packers wouldn't have been in the overtime to begin with.
All you people coming to Rodgers' rescue, blaming it on McCarthy, seemed to have forgotten how horrible McCarthy's in-game planning was. He never made adjustments, completely stopped running and let Favre take hit after hit every time he dropped back.
I hope it's just you guys talking mad, and you really aren't this ungrateful. If you are, then we Packers fans aren't any different from the snobby, obnoxious Boston, New York, Dallas fans....
