Love this Packergeeks post. Very interesting especially the part where he talks about "meta-messaging"

NO I DONT THINK HE WANTS HIM BACK, AND THE REASON FOR IT, IS NOT TO HEAR BRETT TELL THE TEAM WHO THEY SHOULD GET TO PLAY FOR THEM.

I think it's funny that Mike Vandermause is trying to make a conspiracy of "Favre's friends".

How they are all trying to blame Thompson.

Don't normally take stock in ESPN- but this article is pretty good- except the part where he says fans would'nt mind Favre going to another team.

My favorite quote is this
Quote
"Is my team better or worse with Brett Favre at quarterback?"

That's it. Nothing else should matter. Thompson's job is to construct the best possible Packers roster. And if he thinks Rodgers is better than Favre, then Thompson needs to submit his resignation yesterday.

Can't believe everything you hear that's for sure...the Vandermeause article sounds like all speculation and "he said she said." But I can't agree with one of those people that say TT is not to blame. He has a role in it for sure. Why else is he waiting to return from vacation? Wouldn't it be better to call a meeting to cease and desist all rumors? I'm in the military and I can tell you that there's nothing worse to rot an organization from the inside out than rumors...He should be doing SOMETHING...instead he's drinking frozen margaritas...can someone check his medical records? I think he may have been dropped on his head as a child. Sure wish Ron Wolf would have stayed on as GM instead of this yahoo...

TED THOMPSON IS A FREAKIN IDIOT...IF FAVRE WANTS TO COME BACK AND THE PACKER ORGINIZATION DOESN'T WELCOME HIM WITH OPEN ARMS, THEY ARE OUT OF THEIR MINDS...THEY DON'T DESERVE HIM...

I agree- except why does Brett Favre's official page link to it? (Hat Tip: Packergeeks)

True.

Also- here's some more food for thought- again with a hat tip to packergeeks. Mark Murphy quoted in Hashmarks.

Quote
"I keep going back to his retirement announcement and how sincere and heartfelt that was. I think it's pretty reasonable that, as an organization, we're going to move on."

When I read what Murphy said it sound like they first are lieing about knowing if Favre wanted to come back and second, didn't care if he wanted to come back. To me it sounded like they had made up there minds and are going to move on. So to me that proves Favre right in saying Thompson didn't want him back in the first place. Because who in there right mind would tell a three time MVP, Super Bowl Champion QB coming off his besst season ever and should have won another MVP to stay at home we don't want you back. But insist that we want to win know. So Thompson all I have to say is your lier now and always will be. After Rodgers flops and he will I hope your ass is on the first BUS out of GB and the NFL.

While people are piling on Ted. Al Jones of the Sun Herald decided to pile it on.

Quote
Do not, under any circumstance, send a text message like he did last week telling the greatest player in franchise history that he was on vacation.
I don't see the Colts doing anything like this with Peyton Manning.
At first, Brett wanted to be reinstated to the NFL and that's what the text last week to Thompson dealt with.
Thompson's response of being on vacation got the best of Brett. All Brett wanted was an indication he would be welcomed back.
When Brett made the tearful retirement in March, Packers coach Mike McCarthy did his best to talk No. 4 out of it.
Thompson did nothing.
Sounds like an ego problem to me.
