Why T-Shirts Piss Me Off

Because at the end of the day, you're still just a T-Shirt.

Since I'm already crabby today, I thought I would throw this one out quick to cleanse myself before heading out into mother nature. Anyway... has anyone noticed the influx in T-Shirts and Songs suddenly sprouting Facebook and Twitter wings pawning themselves off as Packer fan sites? Now many of these may be Packer fans and I am sure they are. But between Aaron it Out, Fly Like a Cheesehead, and others it's starting to get nauseating as they all inevitably morph into a wannabe Packer hotline for news, opinion, and analysis. It's tough to watch a T-shirt pretty much take over my blood sweat and tears and every day and it seems to be happening more and more. Don't get me wrong, there is at least one shirt that does a nice job, but on the whole, the rest are just smoke and mirrors. Perhaps I'm just bitter, which wouldn't surprise anyone, but I guess I'm just not as quick to hop on a bandwagon fueled only by the desire to sell products. If you want people to take you seriously, ask them to make a purchase. That said, kindly stop duping me into promoting your product so you can then attempt to take over the Packer universe. Yeah, your catch phrase is slightly funny, and your song is okay, but please quit pretending to be something your not Because at the end of the day, you're still just a T-Shirt.

On the subject of T-Shirts, I have worn my CheeseheadTV t-shirt the last three games. I will keep the good luck going this Saturday...

Sounds like someone is jealous that there isn't a "Packers Lounge" t-shirt available for purchase....yet.

That's funny now that I think about it. I had not had that shirt in mind when I wrote this. Ironically though, you do realize who came up with that saying first, right?

No, I'm not going through 16,000 tweets to find it, but it's there.

Alex, you are correct when you said you came up with that nickname. I remember a ton of names being thrown that day actually and then all of the sudden a few weeks later you are seeing almost every nickname we threw out that day on a t-shirt! Someone is hanging around here on CHTV trying to make a profit on what we as fans are saying.

Also, earlier in the season after the Cowboys breakdown. Charles Woodson called Clay "The Claymaker" during a post game interview on NBC.

That being said, I dont mind the nickname "The Claymaker" its just the marketing of it. Its totally cheesy.

I heard a pretty good nickname the other day when Rich Eisen on NFL Network called Clay "The Bloodline". I wonder when those shirts will be out?

Yep, originally it was coined to name an entire defensive package. I like the name, the comment the other day just got me thinking about it.

I personally ordered an Aaron it out shirt and I really like it. My opinion is if you don't like the shirt or video, you dont have to watch or order a shirt.

"has anyone noticed the influx in T-Shirts and Songs suddenly sprouting Facebook and Twitter"

No. No I haven't. I've made a conscientious decision not to have an account with either entity, just don't have the time. From what I gather, seems to be a solid decision. Though Farmville sounds diggity. Sconnie provides all the "clever" T-shirts I need.

I like the songs/t-shirts that are coming out ... It's fun to see/hear the creativity coming out of Packer Nation.

Most of them are quite good, but some are, well ... let's just say that some people are just trying too hard.

The songs keep me pumped and give me something to watch during this week--the longest week EVER!

GO PACK GO!
