Who You Taking?

Now that the Packers are out of contention, people have been bold enough to start asking me who I think is going to walk away with the Lombardi. As you know my luck is no good, so I always consult our friends at BETUS.com Sportsbook for advice. Here's what they're saying.

Now that the Packers are out of contention, people have been bold enough to start asking me who I think is going to walk away with the Lombardi. As you know my luck is no good, so I always consult our friends at BETUS.com Sportsbook for advice. Here's what they're saying.

The Super Bowl odds are out, and Peyton Manning and the Indianapolis Colts, perhaps not unexpectedly, are the favorites to win at Land Shark Stadium in Super Bowl XLIV, at 3/1.

But they're not the favorites by much, as the New Orleans Saints and the San Diego Chargers, both winners of their respective divisions and led by Pro Bowl quarterbacks, with byes in the first playoff round, are listed at 4/1 in the Super Bowl odds.

The New York Jets are actually the longshots on the Super Bowl odds list at 40/1, but coach Rex Ryan is absolutely confident that they can go all the way.

For the Jets to have a chance at winning on Sunday, they'll need to keep the ball on the ground against the Chargers who finished the season 20th in run defense.

The San Diego Chargers are the favorites to win, but the game could still be a toss up. With all the great games taking place over the next few weeks, leading up to the biggest sporting event in America, scheduled for February 7, NOW is the time for you to get your Super Bowl bets down.

I'm rolling with the Vikings myself. How about you?

Yeah, right.

Usually when the Packers lose in the Playoffs, I am too bitter to watch anymore, until next season. I may catch a few minutes of a game or two, but I really don't care who wins. The next thing I am looking forward to is when the schedule comes out.

Same with IronMan, but I made an exception in 2007 because I really wanted to see NE loose.

To be honest I don't have a particular liking for any of the teams left.

Jerry's boys p*** me off (was elated when we beat them)
Can't stand the Saints after '08's 51 point ass beating (and Sean Payton running up the score)
Can't stand the Jets now after Rex Ryan's obnoxious comments about Woodson getting DPY.
Dislike the Cardinals because they beat us.
Have never liked the Chargers, especially Rivers (you suck!)
The Colts ................ meh.
Baltimore ................. meh.

Well now, who does that leave.... Ah, the Vikings. To be honest I would want to see them win because my hate for Cowboys far exceeds my hate for the Vikings. In fact Minnesota are about the only team I can stand that's left in the playoffs...................... and that's pretty sad.

Like most of the others who replied here, I can't find myself caring much. And maybe it's because fans of these teams don't care much. Arizona, Minnesota and San Diego all have troubles selling out their home games, New York and Baltimore don't have much appeal outside their local markets. If other people, especially locals, can't get excited about these teams, how can I?

Now I'm just getting ready for MLS to start up in March.

Erik,

Because I think you are a talented guy, and have been a reader of my blog since day one, I will silently skip over your obvious grief about the Packer loss resulting in psychotic bouts of excitement for soccer.

Don't worry, the guys from overseas will be backing you up shortly.

I say the Colts. If the Vikings win, I will vomit. I hope they get stomped by Dallas. I hate Dallas, but I hate Favre in purple even more. I think Colts-Cards SB, with Manning taking home another ring.
