First time I watched though I thought the woman was waiving a fart away right in Thompson's face.

I have noticed in the past that Thompson has something wrong with that finger on his left hand; Larry McCarren has the same problem (only worse). I imagine that they both had football injuries that left their pinky fingers damaged. They stick out at about a 45 degree angle from their hands. McCarren's looks nasty.
