With nothing needing to be said that hasn’t already been said, I’ve decided to start musing on mostly sports related topics.   Let the  ramblings begin!

GARY’S NEMESIS

Lounge lizards fell in love with Gary the first time they were introduced to him, much like I was months ago when he was determined to be a part of a podcast. That little rapscallion!

But there is another…skywalker. I mean dog. There’s another dog. My dog! As long as we’re sharing adorable pooches in this boring off-season stretch, let me introduce a dog that’s as big of a jerk as I am. Buster!

I think if Gary and Buster had a fight, Gary would win because Buster is a coward. I still love my cowardly dog. When it thunders, we both hide under the bed. It would be adorable if it wasn’t so sad.

500 TWITTER FOLLOWERS

It’s hard to believe our lounge has 500 twitter followers already, and they aren’t mostly me making accounts to pad the numbers! Amazing! Thanks to the followers. You guys rule. Our twitter that Alex works with is awesome. Up to the second news rocks my socks.

TITLETOWN AWARDS

I know it’s probably a faux pas to talk about our Titletown award nominations but I’m just so excited! They come out tomorrow! There’s a good chance that by the time you read this, the winners have been announced. I’m hoping for a win, baby! Either way, it was cool to be nominated and shows just how much work Alex and myself have done in such a little amount of time.

STORMIN’ NORMAN

Some of you might know I’m a huge Bulls fan and I was saddened to wake up to the news that Norm Van Lier, a Bulls legend, passed away. He was 61 but still had the INTENSITY of a teenager. It was easy to see why he was one of the more popular players in team history. Being 24, I never got to watch live footage of Norm playing. I just know him as the crazy old guy on the pre-game and post-game shows.

You know how you feel when the Packers are playing bad? You know how you get mad? Or how about how good you feel when the pack is kicking butt? Norm felt that way about the Bulls tenfold.

In the tromadz gameday lounge, you might have seen me type in “60 minutes of intensity!” I got that from Norm Van Lier.

FREE AGENCY

Free agency just began a few minutes ago. No, I don’t have any NEWS or anything. I’m as excited for free agency as I am for the titletown awards. This is going to be a fun period. Packerslounge.com is going to be hectic at times and I look forward to it.

Peppers is franchised. We put a 2nd round tender on Atari. We even put a tender on Jarrett Bush so you KNOW this free agency is going to be a little goofy. Let’s enjoy the ride, lounge lizards.
