Strangely enough, Olsen is EXACTLY the reason I would always bring up to Bears fans as to why he is overrated as an o-coordinator. Olsen is tall, fast, and can catch. And Martz could never find a way to get him the ball, choosing to go with Hester, who is not a WR, rather than a young TE, as a focal point on offense.

If Martz is such a “genius” how is it he couldn’t figure out how to better utilize Gregg Olsen in the offense? That guy was probably the best receiver he had. Instead he will be leaning on Roy “re-tread” Williams. Some genius. It is going to be impossible to get the smile from Olsen’s face.

Mike Martz is an offensive genius. I keep hearing it. It must be true. Somehow he managed to run a successful system with only 5 HoFers on his offense (Warner, Faulk, Bruce, Holt, Pace). It’s not like just anyone could be successful with that group. It takes someone truly special to triumph those over long odds. Plus his offenses have succeeded at every stop since. He’s continually kept his offenses ranked right around the 30th best in the entire world! The man is clearly at or near the top of his field. How dare you doubt him!
