Quick Hits – Niners
Alex's journey and highlights from the Packers vs. Niners.
I'm not even remotely excited for this game today. Too much else going on. I'm also pissed off. Should be a good time. Here's how things went down. Gameday Conditions: It snowed 16 inches yesterday and I am tired. Going with the stream and TV if it's on. Trying to get some work done during the game if possible. No Packer gear today. Probably roll with a glazed donut and coffee for fuel.

Everyone seems pretty happy before kickoff.

Pre-Game
I like the jersey's at first glance.

A-Rod Throwback
The Packers always give up yards after the first hit. Stone a guy once awhile huh? Clay Matthews had a lot to do with the big gainer to Crabtree. Charlie Peprah continues to impress. James Starks for two yard on his first NFL carry. No touchdown? What the hell? Packer fans, please know the difference between Kuhn and Hall. Thanks. Starks is a big guy, I'll give him that. Early timeout, don't like it. Wow. I don't know about that grounding call. Really? Man Crosby, that's exactly why everyone hates you. What on God's green earth was that?

Mason Crosby
Whatever.
At least the Niners are worse at play calling than we are. No energy by the Packers so far. Stupid mistakes everywhere. Cullen Jenkins for the win.

Really, we had a screen and Colledge made a play? At the same time? Whoa. I kind of wanted Starks to get that one.

Damn, Vernon Davis. That totally kills the momentum. Let's see a quick drive here, in their face. Honestly, this was just big plays. Not a great performance. The officials in this game should be fired. Bad calls, missing time outs. Fair assessment. That was a painful half of football. Nice job by the defense keeping us in it. Donald Driver and Greg Jennings
Nice work Donald!
Packers do not have an answer for Vernon Davis yet. Nice stop in the red zone early in the third. I love Greg Jennings.

Special teams still suck. Not a whole bunch of Jordy or Jones today. Please be ok Cullen Jenkins. There's your dagger by Nick Collins.

Dumb Comment of the Half: "My stream quit working, I can't see the game" MVP James Starks of course. Final Thoughts The Packers made up for a lousy first half on offense with some nice adjustments in the second half. Donald Driver and Greg Jennings played lights out. I can walk away happy from this one, but it's not total domination by any means. No matter what this week will be much nice than last week was. Thank god.

yeah - they beat the crappy'9ers.
call me when they beat someone who's any good.
starks runs forwards at least.
everyone we need to lose, wins... every f'n week.
bet jenkins is out for the year. that calf just straight went out on him... and it's been that kind of season.
mathews has been invisible for 3 weeks now. he's either gotta practice or sit out completely. zombo is the new mathews.
without mathews and jenkins this team will be destroyed by NE and NYG.

What the hell happened to the positive mood?

atlanta beat it out of me.
this team is so unbalanced it's sick.
it's either a big play or nothing.
and the special teams blow. they just always will.
easy to defend the Packers... make them make a 10 plus play drive. chances are good they'll beat themselves along the way somewhere.
i just want a championship so bad. i'm gradually realizing that it's not going to happen this year.
so what's the point?
December 05, 2010 at 03:41 pm
5 more years of opportunities. With this current roster.
That's the point. As I've said numerous times before, and it's not directed to you: If you want to win now, by any means, go cheer for the Vikings.
BTW, 136 rushing yards this game. Against the #8 rushing D...
December 05, 2010 at 04:08 pm
28 rushing attempts by Running Backs for 99 yards. Starks with 18 carries for 73 yards.
The last time we had anywhere, and I mean ANYWHERE near that number of rushing attmepts by RBs was week one, when the Packers also had 28 rushing attempts by running backs for 123 yards.
Interestingly, Jackson had 18 carries, for 63 yards that game.
Man, it makes me wonder is attempts/touches by RB's might be a factor.. MM, are you listening?

so i never get to root for "this year"?
December 05, 2010 at 07:47 pm
Like we all do, you do.
But there isn't ONLY this year. This is what I'm saying.
And, besides, you were acting like it was over.
It's far from over my friend. The Packers aren't dead, and as long as we have a chance, I'm gonna believe in this guys. As long as they keep fighting, so will I.
