Not a Fine Fine.

News just came down that Julius Peppers was fine $10,000 for his hit on Aaron Rodgers in last Sunday’s NFCC game.

I heard the argument that the number was a higher percentage of what Peppers made from the NFL for that game, but comparing his hit to the one that Nick Collins was fined $50,000 for earlier this year, I would be lying if I said I wasn’t confused.

You be the judge:

$10,000 hit

$50,000 hit.

He should have been ejected from the game, and fined $100,000.

Totally Agree! I think if its a helmet to helmet hit and its determined that it was to take the QB out, they should be ejected from the game. And the fine Peppers got was a slap in the face. Steelers better think twice on those kind of hits.

So 10 grand to maybe take the other team’s QB out of the game? The Steelers would be crazy not to go head hunting for that price.

    • Steelers would be crazy TO go head hunting. If you don’t think they’ve been scrutinized the most by this rule, then you don’t follow enough football outside of the Packers.

If I’m Mike McCarthy Im taking Matt Wilhelm placing him at linebacker on the first play. Tell him to late hit and helmet to helmet Big Ben. If he gets ejected pay his 10K fine and tell the NFL they encouraged it.

Yup might as well, 10,000 is all for potentially knocking our qb out of the championship game? Cmon that’s bs. Make an example of peppers so guys like Harrison think twice before doing it. Now they probably licking their chops knowing they won’t get a big fine.

      • You think Harrison, a guy who got fined $125k this year for illegal hits, needs Peppers used as an example by the NFL?

        C’mon, man!

Jayme I do believe all the fines were reduced later in the year.

Did a little research, and I see people alluding to it being reduced to 10K, but can’t find the actual date, assume it might have happened around the time the “Big 3″ had their fines reduced.
Still worth noting the way that the nfl acted re Collins, immediate, heavy fine vs reaction with Peppers.

The fact that it’s a playoff game you’d think the fine would be a little more than 10k. It’s obvious Harrison don’t care about the fines and knowing he’s not gonna get fined a whole lot will factor into how hard or late he hits Rodgers. Like someone mentioned earlier they gotta consider tossing the guys outta the game cuz it seems fines do not matter to some guys.

If I didn’t know better, I’d say those are the words of a bitter fan whose shitty team got owned by, and knocked out of the play offs by, the Green Bay Packers.

Sucks to be you, and the Bears still suck, while we’re at it.

      Good day to you, sir.
