He’s probably heard word that he will be released and is just shopping around for options. Same goes for the wife. I guess the family just wants some sort of security no matter what happens.

I wish him the best but it’s pretty clear that he didn’t got the job done.

The last two playoff games there has been ST blunders, with Underwood touching the ball and the Eagles recovering, and with Weems’ TD return. Not only that, the ST unit has cost us too many games, with key blunders against MIA, WAS, CHI, ATL, this only this year…

If we win the SB, it will be clearly DESPITE Slocum’s job.

We now have a competent punter, and our kicker has one of the biggest legs in the game. There’s no reason our coverage units should struggle the way they have, even with all the injuries.

That kickoff return by Weems sealed the deal. Slocum’s had two years to design a scheme that will allow our returners, both punt and kickoff, to have a snowball’s chance in hell at a return. He hasn’t. He’s had two years to teach professional football players how to fill lanes that won’t allow a huge return every freaking game. He hasn’t. He may be a great guy, you feel bad for his wife, but this is a bottom-line biz, and bottom line, he failed miserably.

yeah he needs to be done. i hope he gets his unit to play lights out for two more games so that someone else hires him.

agree with you. Suprisingly the packers punting team has come a long way but everytime on kick offs fans are holding their breathe hoping nothing bad happens. and the continous lack of a kick return game, there is just not enough reason to keep slocum. i hope he finishes strong, but i think his time is up. also would like to see oline coach phil campen out the door. i think mark tauscher is the main reason why the line has been consistent. going back to last year, first 9 games 42 sacks. tauscher comes back and is with the team goes down to nine. same thing this year.

As much as I think the replacement of Slocum will be good for the team – this is certainly a reminder about how something like this affects families.

If Slocum is released, I wish him the best and hope he and his wife have a long happy and wonderful life together no matter what happens.
