Bears vs Vikings: Who to choose

I have been thinking about this for days, reading posts, comments and as kick off approaches, I think I have finally made a decision.  I think.

Bears or Vikings?  Excluding a massive sink hole opening under Soldier Field and swallowing the two teams whole, and excluding a tie, someone is going to have to win this game.  I have gone over it and over it my head.  Vikings win would give the Packers a clear hold on the Division.  But then it also moves the Vikes up in the division standings and I worry more about the Vikings as the season wears on than I do the Bears.  Bears win would keep them a top the division but it would also mean a Favre loss and it would pretty much count the Vikes out, making the division a two team race.  Decisions, decisions.

I’ve leaned toward both this week, mostly ending up on the side of a Bears win.  But those words are so foreign to my vocabulary.  And the more I thought about it, the more I said, “I don’t care.”  I don’t care who wins; to me, the Packers are heads above both of these teams, and neither of them will pose a real threat in the division as the season ends.  So instead of wanting someone to win, I’m going with what would give ME more joy, and that’s seeing Favre upset.  Therefore, today, you will find me saying, “Down with the Vikings!”  I don’t know if you can say I want the bears to win, but I definitely want the Vikings to lose.
