Packer Pride

Packer Pride

If you have read this blog for any length of time, you know I think the Packers are the classiest organization in the NFL. Here is further proof.

A fan (Michael Cornell) sent me this little narrative about his experience this weekend at the Junior Power Pack camp. His story is so perfect I am not going to even touch it.

Again, nothing but class.

"It (camp) was a great time as expected.  One of the most surprising things was the diversity of the kids, (boys, girls, little ones, big ones) that showed up and from how many different parts of the country.

I met Dads and Moms from Ohio, Iowa, Minnesota, Michigan, Nevada, Arizona and they all had seemingly planned their trips around this activity for their children.  It just goes to show you how solid the fan base is and I expect that some of the reasons are due to the fact that the Green Bay Packers seem dedicated to family, tradition, and the community.

What it's all about...

I don't know of many professional sports programs that bring those three aspects together as well as the Packers do.  The kids seemed to be in a sort of dream state, "Am I really practicing where the Packers do?" while they were running around participating in their drills, (wind sprints, hitting dummies, kicking off, passing and receiving).  I did happen to see one little boy get a bloody nose but even that event seemed positive, as the father took pictures and looked proud as the Packer staff fixed the little guy up.

In the end the children all received a certificate of completion signed by Mike McCarthy and a small Packer flag that they immediately unwrapped and kept waving around proudly as they headed for the cars.  As I walked along my son to the parking lot I couldn't help but feel privileged to be a Packer Fan."

I don't think much more needs to be said.

What a cool story. This is what life is all about.

I mean that field probably is not used for 100 days a year. It just sits there. Why not bring in the little ones to have an event of a lifetime. It is really a cool idea and is helping to form the next generation of Packer fans. Good work MM, TT, and whoever the HR people are over there at the Packers. You are doing good things and impacting our youth in a positive way. Who knows the kid with the bloody nose could be our next Brett Favre!?!

It's just a fact that Green Bay draws the most viewers whenever they play on National TV.

It should even more so when we play the Bears, and the Vikings as well if Favre comes back.

Excellent.. that is what sports should provide to the community.. a sound experience for the youth and entertainment for all.

President Al Kim Jong Ill Davis doesn't want to be disturbed right now.

He knows the GRAND SLAM of Rich Gannon, Jerry Rice, Randy Moss and Marcus Allen plus with the help of Bill Romanowski and Warren Sapp, and of coarse Charles Woodson, will lead his team to Super Bowl 43.
