My Final 53
Here is my stab at the Packers final 53 man roster.
It's time to take a stab at the final 53. God knows what is going to happen (much like before the draft every year) but I think this season is a little easier to predict than most. With that I submit my picks. Have at it.

What did you have in mind for Jarrett Bush? He is not on the list. Did he already get cut and I missed it?!
September 02, 2010 at 12:08 pm
oh man, that screws it all up. I figure Bush is going to be on the team. At least for another 6 weeks.

LOL He is on it now.

nice work!

Is Lumpkin still eligible for the practice squad? After these guys have been in the league for a certain amount of time, I don't think they can be put on the PS.
September 02, 2010 at 12:15 pm
I don't think Lumpkin is eligible for the ps since this is his 3rd year with the team. I think Graham Harrell goes to the ps.

You are right, if he has played in 9 games or been on the active roster for a year. Not sure then.

Graham Harrell will get picked up before he makes a PS. Especially if he does well tonight.

Four tight ends? ... get something for a fine player and starter from 09 Mr. D. Lee. And why don't teams ever trade for a third rounder per se three or four years later? Just curious.

Enjoyed the list Alex, thank you. The only item I completely disagree with is Graham Harrell. I wouldn't even save a spot on the P.S. for him. His velocity is terrible and his mid to deep accuracy under duress will never be that of an NFL QB. I feel the same today as I did when he was acquired, I don't think he has any updside.
Hope I'm wrong, but I don't like anything about the kid on a pro level.

"I feel the same today as I did when he was acquired, I don’t think he has any updside"
You're sticking to your guns, I'll give you that. We had a nice little back and forth about him several months ago. Good times.

Trust me, I'm cheering for him, Fitz. I just don't see how the kid has the arm or talent to fit balls into NFL 'tight windows' against real NFL starters. Not now, not in the future.
September 02, 2010 at 12:30 pm
I think EDS is the one player supposedly on the roster bubble I'm cheering for the most. He's very aggressive, runs well in open space (gets to the 2nd level) and battles in pass-pro. I love his approach and trust him as a back-up, short-term starter.

So no returner on the team, Alex? Or that's the mysterious trade you pointed out? A CB/returner?
September 02, 2010 at 01:49 pm
Will Blackmon's on the active roster now, he CANNOT be placed on the PUP - only those guys who started TC on the PUP and remained there all TC can be put on the Active PUP. It's roster, Injured Reserve, or waivers.

Good point. Too many rules for me.
September 02, 2010 at 08:24 pm
Good job, Alex! I love this time of the year with the predictions. I agree with you except for the below changes
I think Crabtree, Bush, and Newhouse make the team...They replace Graham Harrell, Brett Swain, and Cyril Obiozor.
September 03, 2010 at 04:32 am
Here's a prediction:
GREEN BAY PACKERS: 347
philadelphia shegles: -426
How do you get negative 426 points you ask? No clue. But that's the score, I recommend calling a bookie now, it came to me in a dream. It's the gods making up for 4th & 26.

I think Cherry will get a chance at a return job. Then again, I didn't get to see the game last night being that I live in Illinois.
September 03, 2010 at 01:16 pm
Nevermind, I just read that he sucked last night. PS for him.
September 03, 2010 at 04:57 pm
Everything looks pretty agreeable. If I had to make predictions they would be identical except for:
- 2 QBs
- 3 RBs
- 9 OL, 8 is low
- Won't have 4 TEs and 3 FBs
- Most people have been going with 8 LBs, but nine makes sense.
September 03, 2010 at 04:57 pm
* Won’t have BOTH 4 TEs and 3 FBs

Doggy...
Any way we could bring the arcade into this new format? Or did you leave that behind at your old location with your soul? Joke, settle down now! Seriously though, once in awhile you just want to go to the Lounge's Arcade to jam a little Kawasaki at 3:00 AM with a belly full of 80 proof and Brats.
That was one of the little things that separated "The Lounge" in my mind. Hook it up Alex! This joint just ain't the same without the Arcade Fool!
There's a 15% shot I remember this rant in 10 hrs... just logged on to jam a lil Kawasaki...

There's just no way they'ed only keep 8 OLs, and three QBs for that matter.
And of course, there is a way. But really, there just isn't.
