Sitton was Sippin’

I thought about posting this earlier in the week, but truth be told I’m a Packer fan and not a journalist.
On Tuesday of last week, Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger was hung out to dry for going out drinking at a piano bar with his offensive lineman. I heard many people go as far as saying it contributed to his sub-par performance on the field.
Enter Josh Sitton and T.J. Lang.
On Wednesday night in Dallas, I was about to wrap up a rather long evening downtown at The House of Blues. The main bar area was nearly empty, and as I packed up my gear I happened to glance across the bar and to my surprise there stood Josh Sitton and T.J. Lang along with an entourage of about four other gentleman.
Every member of the group did indeed have beer in hand.
Jayme quickly ran over to the end of the bar to introduce herself, and I must say, the group was definitely NOT happy to see they had been spotted. Not more than five minutes later, they had all but disappeared.
Now I can’t attest to the level of drunkenness, or what happened before or after, but in retrospect it appears that a night of drinking during Superbowl weekend doesn’t automatically translate into a loss.
I didn’t want to mention it at the time. It’s about winning, not about traffic.
So Josh, the next time I see you in a bar during Superbowl weekend offer to buy me one this time.
The TMZ opportunity was right there for me buddy, I even had a HD cam locked on ya.
But, as always, I’m 100 percent Packer fan.
And we’re Superbowl Champions now.

Josh was definitely not excited about being spotted, so I just said thanks and left. T.J. Lang on the other hand seemed to be a little bummed that I didn’t ask to shake his hand.
Ummm, Josh:
You’re 6’3 318 and you’re hanging out with other dudes of the same body type…SOMEONE is going to notice you. If you want to enjoy a drink and you are a public figure, you can’t get upset if someone spots you.
Especially if you are drinking at a Packers event
I mean with this kind of body type, it’s pretty difficult to get drunk anyway.
the whole thing was so stupid. yeah, big ben was still hungover/effected on sunday from going on tuesday. that mustve been a helluva night.
Again, this is one of the many benefits to being a fan blog and not a reporter. Well done, Alex.
no matter how much I think this is a non-story… im so glad you didn’t do a post or a TMZ file about it.
After seeing how quickly and ridiculously the Photo-gate got outta hand, theres no reason to even try to break this story if you are a Packers fan. Saving it for later is better.
Good job Alex. Now this is a Max McGee type story. Got hammered before the biggest game of his career and came out and played lights out.
What time of the night was this? As long as he was in before his 1am curfew I don’t see this as an issue.
The Big Ben-piano bar was a “story” because he has history of drinking/late nights/bars/women that people will obviously ridicule him for.
