Quick Hits
Nice to see us come out with a stop and a touchdown right away.
Not so much on the ensuing 55-yard kickoff return by the Seahawks. I am officially now hollering for Slocum to go.
Greg Jennings is a superstar.
I could watch Aaron Rodgers throw deep all day, every day.
Ryan Grant is doing a much better job of adjusting to a closed hole.
I don’t know what to say about Finley anymore. Just completely unstoppable.
The young corners looked terrible in the first half. Seriously, Bush is a lost cause. Why do I keep having to say that?
Desmond Bishop was fairly unimpressive.
We could have had Leon Washington, just sayin’.
I noticed Jordy was playing the fourth man.
Bulaga had a nice game, again.
Will Blackmon does make me feel a lot more comfortable. Nice to see him in there. On punts. He sucked on defense. Really sucked.
Wow, Derrick Martin got ejected? Ejected? Wow, just wow. It sounds like he threw a couple of punches. He could miss time for that.
Breno Giacomini really, really struggled. You have to think he’s gone now.
Mike Neal is already getting triple teams. Nice.
The jury is still out on Morgan Burnett through week two.
Who turned on Brandon Jackson? I like it.
Quinn Johnson WILL make this team. Mark it down. Right here. 8.20.10
Justin Harrell played. Guess his back is fine Vandermause.
Matt Flynn gets a reluctant pass from me in the suck department this week.
I have said Sam Shields would never make this team. I still say that.
Mason Crosby sucks huh? I also said he would be just fine.
MVP
Greg Jennings
Bottom line, half of the first team didn’t even get on the plane for the trip. If you want to sit and bitch about scrubs, we certainly can. But I’ve already moved on. Again, the only thing that is going to beat this team is mental mistakes. We made a bunch of them.
Bring on the Colts.

When Rodgers throws the deep pass its a thing of beauty. Show me who throws the deep pass better then Rodgers?
Rivers is awfully close.
God himself wishes he could drop the ball on a dime for 60 yards downfield. Oh wait Rodgers is God! Go Pack Go!!!!
Alex, I would like to know your thoughts on something. It has to do with all these so called “core special team players”
We hear all the time. Mostly at cutdown, that the deciding factor will be a players value on “special” teams.
I don’t know if anyone but myself has noticed, but our special teams SUCK.
What I am trying to say is this. IF all these so called fringe players are going to make the team because they are “core” special team players. Why is it that are special” teams suck so much?
Alex, while I agree with your sentiments about Leon Washington, it would require McMarthy knowing how to rotate his backs properly. If he only brought Washington in for obvious 3rd down passing situations then he wouldn’t be as effective.
Regardless, I still think Brandon Jackson can be a player if he gets more consistent touches.
i’m all for keeping Shields if we can just please CUT BUSH!!! that being said, he should not be allowed to return any kind of kick again this year, but when he gets the ball in his hands he is exciting. i was there tonight and he definitely has an energy about him when he had the ball.
Bush is truly a lost cause. Right on. But if they insist on hanging on to a guy like him, why not hang on to the rookie with 4.2 speed? This is Bush’s 5th year or something. MAYBE Shields will get it someday, but Bush just won’t.
Shields was impressive as the gunner, and he got a pick in the 4th from a wobbled ball.
Frank Zombo got a sack as well from the DE position.
Harrell was decent as well.
“Again, the only thing that is going to beat this team is mental mistakes. We made a bunch of them.”
Phrase of the month.

Regarding Rodgers. He’s elite. It has come to a stance where I just relax when he’s playing. Up till last year, I got really nervous, specially on 3rd downs. Now, I just trust he’s gonna convert it.
Rodgers gives me the feeling that everything is gonna be alright. The same feeling I had with Favre when he was the MVP of the league.
“Mike Neal is already getting triple teams. Nice.”
Looks like I wasn’t the only one who noticed that
Seriously Neal is looking like a beast out there. He’s flat out meeting all the expectations we had about a 2nd round pick. Look for him to possibly get a starting spot sometime during the season.
Shields has the fans rooting for him because of his speed and athleticism, but it will all come down to special teams play and who he is up against.
I don’t trust him as a return man, but I think he has serious potential as a gunner (nice play in the first half) and as a DB project. He’s got 2 INTs which is not bad. Only thing you have to ask is he keeping to his assignments and making the right decisions at the play level. If his decision making isn’t there, then I don’t see the point in keeping him on-board. Won’t surprise me either way.
It will be very hard to keep Bulaga off the field. In my mind he’s already better all around than Colledge. He’s proven just as apt at LT, but it’s the pre-season. I am really curious to see him against some of the more elite pass-rushers.
I like where underwood is at. I’m giving him the nod over Lee right now. It will be interesting to see him play when the D isn’t in vanilla mode.
Also, does anyone remember collins blitz were he got tooled by Washinton. I don’t see why he didn’t challenge washinton more. Have to believe woodson would have handled that blitz better.
If Collins wouldn’t have tried jumping him, he might have come out a little better.

Finley is just a man among boys out there. Put a corner on him, he’s too big. Put a safety or LB on him, he’s too fast (and usually still too big). He is going to open up so much for this O this year, it’s going to be unreal. I’m debating whether to take him as the 1st TE off the board if I have the chance past the 5th rnd. Clark and Gates have been doing it really well for years, but I think 88 might have the best #’s of them all this year.
