There are two other articles that pretty much say the same thing. Frankly, I stand by everything I said earlier. When you’re in need of a starting OLB and DE, Back-up NT (which we still need all three) it is a situation. No one was saying the season was over, just that there was cause for concern.

That isn’t to say we can’t do great during this free agency. Because if we land Burnett and either Carter or Holliday it will be a pretty good haul.

Lets not go overboard on this defensive mindset and philosophy change.. it is a large change, but that early into the offseason, it isn’t like we are scrapping all the players on this defense and starting over.

The backend of the defense might have the most to change overall, going from a straight up man concept to a zone and zone blitz concept.. but honestly other than Harris, it is mindset over difficultly.

In the box, sure the gaps and responsibilities will change, but only a few players will really feel the difference. Kampman and whomever takes the nose on… the DE will feel it in the running game with more doubles hitting them, but these guys are pros and the concepts are that different.

I refuse to let this regime us this as an excuse… so I really ask you to ask yourself, is this really rebuilding or finishing off a job and improving.

I’m not worried. It will all work out.

I’m just waiting for the schedule to come out. Then I can decide which game I want to go to. Lambeau baby!
April will be a good month. The release of the NFL schedule, Springfield/St. Louis Cardinals games, a trip to St. Louis, and my birthday!
