Em-Bear-Assessment: Eating Crow

Em-Bear-Assessment: Eating Crow

It almost didn't happen this week.

There is not a lot to say about the Bears this week that is negative. After beating up Falcons 30-12 I, along with a number of others, were almost humbled by the performance that the team in orange and blue gave on Sunday. They played well, and although they were helped by an Atlanta team who looked like they would rather be doing something else, they walked away with a win, and more importantly, confidence heading into their game against New Orleans.

Could it be possible that there would be nothing to criticize the Bears about this week? Would I be silenced  for once in the never ending pursuit of laughter at the expense of the Packers most hated rival? It was very possible this week.

Leave it to a Bears fan to save the day.

After the game Sunday, I saw an email appear stating that there had been a comment added to a previous post in which Jay Cutler has a starring role. The comment, posted by someone going by the name DerekDaBearsDillard, was a little over the top complimentary toward a certain quarterback, and a tad under appreciative of another.

"Not to disrespect Mr. Rehor or any of the good cheeseheads of the world but jay is a titan, lets not forget his situation. Furthermore he looked better in his season opener than Rogers. Now choke on that cheese

-BearDown"

To say this upset the masses of Packers fans is a bit of an understatement, and their comments can be read at your leisure at the link posted above. My original thought was it was just a troll, deciding that this would be a nice place to try and set up shop for his/her amusement. And we love our trolls here at Eat More Cheese. I readied myself for an all out assault on said individual, armed with beat down material about one Mr. Cutler that would make his/her head spin.

And then it happened.

As I checked my email early this morning, I saw a new comment from our new friend, DerekDaBearsDillard. This time, his/her tone was a little different regarding the comparison of Aaron Rodgers to Cutler:

"In an effort to show cheesehead america that i am not jus another delusional Bears fan, I will man up and make the following statement. In the excitment of knocking off last year’s #1 ranked team I may have over exaggerated. After review, Rodgers threw for more comp, 1 more TD, n 1 less int. I can admit a wrong. Rodgers looked better.
-BearDown"
Despite the fact that said Bears fan cheers for the wrong team, I feel a little better knowing that this person learned two valuable lessons. First, think before you speak. Secondly, and much more importantly, don't come here and start talking about Cutler being better than Rodgers. Unless you enjoy being crushed.
By the way, how does that crow taste?

Cutler is many things, but a Titan he ain't. ;)

You're right-and I bet Mike Munchak wouldn't even want him

This is easy:

-Cutler handed the Falcons their only touchdown.
-Cutler also had two additional INTs go right through the hands of Falcons DBs.
- Rodgers didn't throw a single pick.
- Rodgers was only aided with 1 turnover and a special teams TD. Cutler was aided with three turnovers and a defense TD.

You made it too scientific. I was content to just say the commenter and Cutler were one in the same-douchy

Should have just said he may have played well but he still looks like he sucks-- because it's true.

Glad we had some material for this week - the Bears looked good. And Cutler looked good. Not "Rodgers Good" but "Year 2 in Mad Martz' Offense Good." Still hating on me for drafting him in #DCGB John? ;) Could be another great year for this rivalry. Also, condolences to Brian Urlacher and his family their loss.

Am I mad you risked a draft pick on an inconsistent, interception machine whiny, pouting douchebag like Cutler? It's your team, not mine.

And will this be another great year for the rivalry? I'm already writing on that for next week. It is going to be an epic week here-the rematch of the millennium
