I think he know that he has to battle for that third spot and in the near future 2nd spot on the team. He'll come in healthy and take command of the number three receiver. Of course the coaches call the plays. But I do think it's likely that if they called so few plays for him to go over the middle, they had their doubts about that aspect of his game. He wasn't known as a speed receiver, but more of a slot receiver, that can get the ball and take the hit.
