Time out.

Let’s not go retiring Rodgers’ number yet. I’m thinking in terms of him playing another 10 years or so, and not for what happens when his playing days are over. Just enjoy the ride for now.

As for giving 4 to anyone, I truly wonder what would happen if they did try and issue that number to another player. I bet it would be a media feeding frenzy,and the and the player who had number 4 would have to endure spotlight they did not deserve.

Even if 4 is never officially retired (which I firmly believe it will be at some point) I cannot see the Packers giving it out to anyone else.

How does the Packers winning a super bowl excuse any of his crap? He helped put GB on the map at the beginning of his career, and he crapped on it at the end. You don’t get to overlook that either, dude.

Who is Brett Favre? Wait, wasn’t he the guy who played QB for us between Don Majkowski and the start of the Aaron Rodgers era?

Favre playing for the Bears would be hilarious. Maybe even… just. I mean, has there been a good Bears quarterback since Sid Luckman? Moreover, Jim McMahon was our back up QB. Maybe Favre should return the favor for the Bears.

This would be a bloopers reel come alive. A bloopers real with a true thematic core that sings, “DA BEARS…. STILL…. SUUUUUUUUUCK!” I mean at least the Vikings picked him up when he was reasonably fresh.

SO BRING IT! Just be sure to break out the beers and appetizers first.

I agree, get over the hate. Before Bret came to Green Bay, the Packers weren’t much better than the current Colts. It’s now time to get over the hate & enjoy what the Packers are accomplishing right now. This season could be history in the making if they can go 19-0.

After a long period of feeling betrayed, hurt, and just plain angry, I felt that the time had come to begin to let it go, and try to forgive the man for his treatment of the fans that held him so dear. It was all there for him, and he threw it all away to satisfy his vengeful needs to show the Packers their mistakes. Him, or those who speak for him, not saying flat out, “Not interested, I’m retired!”, has awakened those same feelings again. If it goes beyond simple talking, I know, that for me, that will be the end! Please stay away from the Bears! Let the healing process continue!

I think it shows more that BLF still can’t shut up those ‘close’ to him when called upon to talk.

Not a chance in hell BLF comes back for the Bears. Too cold. Martz’s system too radically different from what he’s played in before.

I don’t think brett cares about you either ,so get over yourself and let the man be .he put the packers on the map after 30 years ,so stop the hate .all green bay packer fans need to stop the hate and move on .we won a super bowl and may win another yet the fans still have hate for him .what a bunch of wasted energy .

I seriously think the man has taken too many hits to the head and is suffering from some sort of dementia. Sad to say that, but there it is.
I linger in sadness for just a little time over that thought, but I then grow a sly, thin grin brought on by my last memory of him in purple…Clay Matthews flinging him around by the jersey like a limp rag doll. I imagine Mr. Matthews repeating that scene, all the while saying “how ya doin’, Brett?”
Very mixed emotions.

I think many, many, many packer fans would be with you on this one. Him going to the Bears would not only prove him going to the Vikings was for revenge, it would prove he hates the packers even more than his biggest packer critics originally thought.

I think the Bears are smarter than that. But just by insinuating he would play for the Bears, I have un-forgiven him. If he doesn’t stop coming out with stuff like this, I will be done with him forever– doesn’t matter if he plays for the Bears.
