Curse For Cash?

I do not believe in curses.

The Madden Cover Curse is dumb. The Sports Illustrated cover jinx is nothing more than paranoia. And I refuse to believe that without concrete evidence that stepping on a crack will break my grandmother’s back.

However, some things do cause me to shake my head a little and wonder what they were thinking.

Case in point: this new addition to the Packers Pro Shop: the perfection T-Shirt.

To me, selling a shirt promoting perfection seems a little bit Super Bowl Shuffle-ish and not something that I thought I would ever see the Packers do. Yes, they are having a phenomenal season, but it seems like the Packers are jumping on the money train to try and capitalize on a currently undefeated team.

More importantly, what happens if they go out and lose this season? These T shirts become nothing more than a failed marketing campaign and collectors item.

Am I crazy? Did the Packers create their own curse by selling these?

Update: shortly after seeing this item available for sale on the Pro Shop website, it was removed from the site. While it is unclear as to the reason why it was removed, it is interesting that an item was removed for sale from the Pro Shop. I have never seen that happen before.

Guess the shirt wasn’t so perfect after all.

To be fair, it doesn’t say 19-0. Maybe they just mean the Packers are the perfect franchise? Hopefully? Most Packer fans certainly believe that.

If I’m wrong, and this is a 19-0 precursor t-shirt, then it is flat out dumb.
