We were tipped off that the Packers were showing interest in defensive end Chris Canty earlier today thanks to Cheesehead TV.

Now, it appears the Packers have called twice.

According to Packersnews.com, Canty has been in high demand.

"The Packers contacted Blank at the start of free agency late Thursday night to express their interest, though they also warned they generally don’t move early in free agency. However, their interest has escalated, and they called again today to set up a visit for Canty early next week."

I also found it interesting that Canty's agent thought that Green Bay was the perfect fit. Since his two prior visits will be with the Giants and the Seahawks who play a 4-3, the Packers make even more sense.

I echo the sentiments of many today, as I express my shock that the thought is even being entertained.
