Bush out of Office

Bush out of Office

Even with the off-season moving at a snail's pace, I still have some things to ramble on.

CHARACTER ISSUES

It seems every guy that is rumored to be in talks with our team has some sort of character issue. It’s either dirty play, arrests, or the unforgiveable act of guaranteeing a win against an opponent. Part of me wants to think, “Looks like Ted is moving past ‘Packer People’ and just wants to win” but the truth is, the NFL is full of scumbags and if any GM wants to fill a roster, he’s going to have some guys with character issues. At the same time, don’t turn the team into the Raiders.

OFFENDED?

I never thought I would see Packers fans so angry that guys like Christ Canty didn’t sign with Green Bay. Two months ago, could you imagine being upset that we didn’t bring in powerhouses like Kevin Burnett? Free agency does crazy things to people. Oh no, we didn’t get Grey Ruegamer! F*CK!

DOUBLE AGENT

Tramon Williams is holding out. Or at least that’s what most people will have you believe. I want to know how you can hold out of something that isn’t taking place. That’s like me saying I’m not going to serve in the military! Take that, Government! What’s that? There’s no draft and I’m not obligated? Okay, nevermind then. Similar circumstances here. When there’s actually something that he’s missing (camp, OTA’s) then it’s an issue. Till then, it’s his agent doing his job.

For the record, Tramon deserves a payday but holding out won’t be any part of negotiations. It got Tramon’s name in the news and got people noticing he’s vastly underpaid. Good job, agent.

ITCHY BUSH

It seems Jarrett Bush has the itch to test the market because he is meeting with a number of teams. I can’t wait until someone takes him. That would be sure to cheer up my buddy Alex. This is addition by subtraction in every sense of the word. With Pat Lee and Tramon Williams being the future at the cornerback position and bringing in safeties in free agency, the Packers have no need whatsoever for Jarrett Bush.

VIDEO OF THE WEEK

If this doesn’t make you either...

A) Laugh out loud

or

B) Go “awww”

...then you have no soul.

I have a question in the response to rid ourselves of Jarrett Bush?

We know for a fact that the linebackers regressed under the last defensive staff.. the numbers certainly don’t lie.

And I have a tremendous amount of respect for Lionel Washington and the job he did with the corners.. but whom is to say that he doesn’t respond differently and “get it” with a student of the game teaching him in Darren Perry?

Isn’t it worth the measly 1.02 Million dollar tender to find out the answer to that question in camp and if nothing else cut him in TC if he still doesn’t “get it”.

I understand the frustration with Bush, but I don’t understand the uproar over tendering him at such a low amount and hoping he remains on the team and gets to work on the offseason drills and TC.

He has all the potential to become a player.. I see it worth the one year risk.

I would like to clarify.. if he gets a long term offer from either of the clubs with any deferred money into future years.. then it is time to allow him to move along.

You're seriously lacking common sense with that last one. We don't have a decent DE or OLB. We don't have a back-up nose tackle. Our line was terrible last year. But I guess there's no way that could have been a personnel issue. It's not free agency. It's TT INABILITY TO FILL HOLES. We wouldn't have to be looking for Canty or Burnett if we didn't have two starting spots and one back-up spot on the front seven to fill. And I wouldn't have complained about greg friggin rugg if our line hadn't been so poorly staffed in 2005. It wasn't until 2007 that ted's draft policy FINALLY paid off. I guess when Mark Tauscher and Clifton are gone, we'll have too wait two years to get them replaced too. He's not going to get that treatment with the D-line or with replacing the tackles. If Johnny jolly and Brady Popp are starting at DE and OLB respectively I will puke. That is what people are upset about, not chris friggin canty.

And the season starts tomorrow? I love that mindset. LOVE IT!

Don't remember much TT criticisms about him not being able to fill holes when we were 13-3. Yawn.

haha, touche, but that criticism was definitely there when we were 4-12, 8-8 and 6-10. With those set of numbers 13-3 sounds kinda like an anomaly. All I'm saying is he left huge gaps on the o-line in 2005 and don't be surprised if he chooses to do the same thing this offseason. Sure Free agency isn't over yet, plenty of time to get something done. For the fifth time though, there is plenty of reason for concern. Just don't down-play it like its not an issue. What makes you think TT is going to fill 3 positions when in his four years here he only gets 1-2 guys an offseason through trades or free agency. One of them is already gone. You're not going to find everything your need through the draft, especially not this year.

I just hope we don't have (1) another terrible or even mediocre year (7-9 or 9-7 and no playoffs doesn't mean anything) and (2) we hang onto him because he just signed a new contract and because of the recessions we try an get a little more out of out of him.

...btw A. LOL
