The Award For Worst Packer Ever Goes To…

It must be the off season, because it’s time for a list.
In light of Ron Wolf declaring Brett Favre the greatest Packer of all time, the discussion naturally turned into whether this was correct or not. Some thought Bart Starr was indeed the greatest ever, others thought it might be Don Hutson. And believe it or not, there were even some who thought it was Favre. It is the discussion which will never, ever end.
So rather than delve into that discussion, I decided it was time to ask a different question.
This morning on Twitter, I made a comment which every Packer fan must have an opinion about. The statement was simple, but yielded some answers as emotional as the best ever discussion brought:
You never hear about the worst Packer player of all time.
The responses came fast and furious, and were accompanied with some interesting comments. As I read the candidates come in, I kept thinking about how each one of these players sucked in their own unique way, and as a result, are imbedded in the brains of Packer fans for their suckitude.
The early results for Worst Packer of All Time are:
Tied with one vote each: Rich Campbell, Michael Haddix, Justin Harrell, and Taco Wallace
A two way tie with 2 votes each for Terrell Buckley and Jamal Renyolds
Next up with 3 votes, BJ Sander
A two way tie for second place with 4 votes for Tony Mandarich and Ahmad Carroll
And the winner, for worst Packer of all time goes to………..
Don’t remember who TJ is? Don’t know why he ranks as the worst Packer of all time? This might refresh your memory, or help create a new one.
Congrats TJ. Here is your official Worst Packer of All Time trophy.
You suck.
Feel free to cast your vote in the comments.

Ahmad Carroll. 1000 times Ahmad Carroll. I remember being in vacation in Hawaii with my dad when he was drafted, and that’s the most positive memory of him that I have. Just an absolute waste of a draft pick, roster spot, and salary.
Mandarich was taken with Barry Freaking Sanders still on the board. Carroll, Harrell, and Rubley don’t even add up to how bad he was compared to what we could have had.

[...] My vote went to Ahmad Carroll, but good ‘ol Ahmad came in tied for second. Check out the post and see who took home the top [...]
Personally I thought Jim Del Gaizo was the worst. I watched him play and he was horrible! I know TJ Rubley disobeyed Holmgren and lost that Game against the vikings for us but Del Gaizo sucked bad.
Mandarich was the worst pick ever. This guy actually went on a talk show to say he could beat up Mike Tyson in his prime.
That was a good aticle to by the way.. I don’t remember that guy at all!
Glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for reading!
