I agree.. I am a die hard Packer fan & sure I read the articles that come along weather about Football or personal life.. But what I really want to see is the game on Sunday’s.. I don’t think Aaron owes any fan explanation for his personal life, but what he does on the field, be it good or bad, I want to hear about that. I hope he has a wonderful happy personal life, but it don’t matter to me, how many TD’s he threw last week is what matters. That’s not to say I don’t want to learn about Football players in general off the field, it’s just not something I am going to be obessed with. #gopackgo

I think you nailed it on the head. I don’t think a public figure has to sacrifice privacy even in this digital age. I know it is comparing apples to oranges, but I can appreciate where Aaron is coming from. Not a celebrity by any stretch of the imagination but I have a very public job in a small town. I know what it is like to be out with my kids and people expect me to step into that public role whether I’m out to dinner or taking my kids trick or treating (yes, that happened a year ago. Here is my excited face.) There’s a reason I don’t disclose my children’s names to many people or let them know a lot about them. I want their lives private. Aaron may be a public figure but his girlfriend/fiance/wife is not. And if he chooses to keep that part of his life on a need-to-know basis, I get it. I really do. Because regardless of what your role is in public, it is so important for your own safety and sanity to partition that from your private life. That said, I love my job. But the interactions I have at work need to stay in that realm.

Great insight. As a woman who likes to pretend I have a chance with #12, very good perspective. And really, respect Aaron for being so humble.
