This team is built to win now. And just making the playoffs is not going to be accepted. It’s one of the dangers of winning the Super Bowl-expectations are raised to astronomic levels

And I’m not worried so much about this year, I think there’s enough to at least make the playoffs in 2012 even if it’s not in great style, but for the future sustain of the team. The Packers have suffered a drain on their potency with the injuries and a lot of draft picks of the last two years don’t seem to be panning out. The “next man up” are those guys of the 2nd and 3rd string and if they look bad now against other 2nd and 3rd string, the 2014/2015 Packers don’t look they’re going to be good. This also needs to be seen in light of Rodgers soon to be taking a bigger bite of the payroll, so if things are thinning now, what’s going to happen when the Pack lose a blue-chip salary’s worth of payroll going to the star QB? We need some solid core guys that are going to develop decently and while some look o.k. there is a thin feel to the depth that isn’t going to be helped come Rodgers’ next deal.

Put another way, do people remember the pre-seasons where the #2′s could push around the other team, as well as the #3′s? That’s where the sustain the last 4-5 years was coming from. But that doesn’t seem to be there now and will be felt a few short years down the line.
