Writing About the Packers Is A Dog From Hell
By PackerAaron
Look, I understand there are hundreds if not thousands of venues for you to get your Packers news and analysis. That's why I try to take care not write things that are completely historically inaccurate like say, oh, that the Packers have never run a 3-4 defense.
Peter Bukowski - officially off the list of those to be taken seriously.

Ouch.

Even the commenters don't get it right. Holmgren didn't banish the 3-4 instantaneously. We ran a 3-4 front with Reggie White, John Jurkovic and Sean Jones as the D-Line until Santana Dotson and Gilbert Brown entered the fray and thus made the 4-3 more practical. And I'll never forget the lousy 3-4 D-lines Infante/Braatz fielded with Bob Nelson, Shawn Patterson and Robert Brown, et al.
These young whippersnappers need to study their pre-Holmgren Packers.

I guess that maybe they were so horrible in the 3-4 that we don't want to remember it?

With a name like Bukowski, you'd think he'd have something somewhat intelligent (or at least entertaining) to say.

I hope I never make the list.
I stopped reading that guy's article after "Bill Clinton once said."

Dale.. you want to be on the list. Peter is officially off the list.

Good call. Put me on good lists and take me off bad lists.
I'd also like to get off the list that has resulted in these E.D. e-mails I get.

Sometimes history only goes back as far as you actually witnessing the game. Who exactly is David Whitehurst, anyway?

Yeah, the whole Bleacher Report website is not really reputable, since it's essentially college kids, or recent grads writing "about their favorite teams!". What's amazing is that people actually take them seriously. Yahoo's "Shutdown Corner", a pretty decent NFL blog in itself, linked to a crap article Bleacher Report had (written by someone still in college I believe) about next year's potential top NFL draft picks, and the list had many glarring errors of players missing. Comments left on the article basically poked enough holes in it to make a fine cheese.
Nothing against college kids, or recent grads wanting to write some. But don't call it reporting unless you're actually doing some basic journalism and researching and writing intelligently.

OFF SUBJECT, BUT I WANTED TO SHARE QUOTES I FOUND FROM TWO PACKER GREATS.. ABOUT PACKER FANS..
"These fans, there's none like them, there really isn't. I don't care if you're losing, they'll have 80,000 thousand people there. If the Packers go 4-12 they're a sell out. If the Packers go 2-14 they'll sell out. If they go 0-16 the same people will be there."
Paul Hornung
"I would sit on the sidelines with a towel on my head and look around and go what in the world would make you people come here, at -8, -10, windchill of some ungodly number and we're 3-11. You know, what, what would make you do that?"

Who is this Peter Bukowski, again? Like I care!
-----------------------
Aaron, I'm surprised you even took time out to post this Article. Seriously.
I thought Infante was making headway there for awhile with the Defense (remember Tim Harris?), especially in 1989. And, who can ever forget the Majik Man Era? It was those teams that woke up Packerfandom from their Rip Van Winkle slumber. Holmgren took over and WOW. Infante ended up down here in Indy after that. As did Majik, for a time. In that, Holmgren screwed up (1993). The BF INT's that resulted, in MIKEY not having anyone else worthwhile to turn to - might have been prevented.
--------------------
The site reminds me of others like:
'firetedthompsonnow'...etc., etc. Nothing credible to the passion for Packerfandom at all.
