Wide Receiver Jordy Nelson Expresses Uncertainty About Week 1 Return
Optimism has been expressed for a return by Nelson by the season opener but no guarantees were made by Nelson on Monday.
However, Jordy Nelson isn't sure if he'll be ready in time for the Week 1 regular season game in San Francisco. #Packers

There's been little said about the knee injury to wide receiver Jordy Nelson during Packers training camp over the past few weeks.
Since he's been shut down, head coach Mike McCarthy acknowledged that Nelson had undergone a procedure on his knee but didn't get into specifics, and Nelson hasn't talked much to the media.
McCarthy expressed hope that Nelson would be able to return in time for the regular season Week 1 season opener against the defending NFC champion San Francisco 49ers, and while that could still be the case, perhaps the the first sign of an overly optimistic timeframe for return was revealed on Monday.
When the media finally caught up with Nelson, he didn't rule out a Week 1 return to action, he would appear to have hedged, not willing to go out on a limb either.
"Our main goal is San Fran," Nelson is quoted as saying at JSOnline. "And that’s just a goal. You never know what could happen. We’ll just continue to go day by day."
Nelson called his surgery "minor," but didn't do much to elaborate.

Sorry to say it but Gordy, who I really like, lost a step or two last year. Did not see that separation from the safety as in the past. His overall effectiveness to get deep may be gone. Hope not. Speed was his forte.

He also said if it was during the season he'd be playing through it.
Then again with this team, they lie about injuries all the time. You just never know.

To win in San Francisco is going to take more than just the skill of our team; it's also going to take a little bit of luck. If not having Jordy play in that game meens that we can have him healthy for the Skins in week 2 then I say let him sit.

We won't see him until after the bye.

This is very possible, and not really a bad move either.
