What's with you people?
Every Packer fan I talk to has the same reaction after every game. "What are they going to do about the running game?" Um, McCarthy has already answered this question. They're going to throw the ball. A lot.
Seriously, do people really expect McCarthy to find a magical formula that makes Darren Colledge a competent run blocker? Or Scott Wells a mauling center? They just aren't built that way. The line gets absolutely stoned whenever they try to run between the tackles, and whenever they try to run outside, we see Clifton and Tauscher's limited ability in the zone-blocking scheme.
So let's enjoy the offense that we have, shall we? Don't forget, not five years ago the Raiders made it to the Super Bowl with a 37 year old quarterback who threw it 40 times a game and won the league MVP award. (And they would most likely have won it, had they not faced their previous coach...) Favre is every bit as good as Rich Gannon was that season, if not exponentially better. And don't forget, this defense is no joke. The recipe is there. Control the ball through an old school West Coast offense and play good defense. Let's see how far it takes us...
