I was commenting on this all day yesterday. Kampman was a complete no-show. He gets a lot of love from the fans, but has been invisible all season. Jenkins was better than Kampman yesterday, but not all that much. Clay Matthews, on the other hand- he can play.

I call bullshit for those saying his struggles are scheme based. He had his hand in the ground and was asked to go upfield on the majority of the snaps and he FAILED to do anything against a rookie. When will some of you realise that 3-4 is a base and not the defense on every play.

You do realize that he only had 3 sacks in the last 4 years out of a base 4-3, right? You do realize that almost all of Kampmans sacks came in defensive sub packages? This is about individual effort and not making plays. Kampman was in his supposed comfort zone with hand in the ground coming off the end on many of those last night and simply did not produce.

He’s a bad fit for this defense. I think he will be Corey Williams’d in the offseason…tagged and traded. Ship him off to a 4-3 team where he’ll be happy. As long as it’s not the Minnesota Ex-Packers.

He wasn’t there because he hasn’t had enough practice doing what he used to do. He’s been confused and now is in nowhere land. Coaching is the key, there was little at work there.

I was bitching about this during the in game comments and bitching about it on every one of your posts since. Kampann and Jenkins have defensive opportunities both in and outside of base where they simply don’t win one-on-one matchups agains lesser talent.

Players gotta play, bitch about scheme all you want. Good, to the point post, Aaron. I’m glad this is a header on the blog.
