What People Don\’t Get About the Schedule

I’ve seen a lot of this around the Packer blogosphere:
Hopefully we’ll have enough wins in the first 11 games so the last 5 won’t be critical.
Don’t look at the end of the schedule. Don’t even be bothered with it. Concentrate on the first month, when teams will at least be somewhat similar to the image you have of them now. Because I gaurantee you, those games that look so ‘tough’ in December right now, one or two of them will look like pushovers come November.
Now, that doesn’t make McCarthy’s task any different. He has to win those games. Look no further than last years schedule – Remember when the schedule came out and how the Jacksonville game loomed large in December as a knock down, drag out fight with one of the best, most physical teams in the league? Yeah, not so much. And the Packers STILL lost.
It’s not who you play, it’s when you play them. Concentrate on the first month. Everything will be completely different by November.

Outstanding point. The whole “easiest” or “toughest” schedule rankings at this point are complete BS when half the teams that make the playoffs one year miss out the next. I love our schedule!
Couldn’t agree more. It’s nice to speculate, but in reality we need to focus on the first month.
McCarthy will.
Bingo.
yahtzee?
