Well That Was Fun...

The 2009 season is in the books and all I can say is...the Combine is in HOW many weeks?

Seriously, this has been, by far, the best year yet here at Cheesehead TV, between our association with Railbird Central and Brian Carriveau forming Cheesehead Nation to bring you Packers-centric coverage of the NFL Draft then beginning our live shows during OTAs and Mini Camp to covering every...single...training camp practice. From our weekly live shows during the season, to bringing Holly Phelps on board for the Other 31, right up to unveiling Packer-World.com for the Super Bowl yesterday, it has been a banner year here at Cheesehead TV.

I just wanted to acknowledge the growing community here at Cheesehead TV and thank each and every one of you for taking the time to check in every day, to let me know when I'm full of it (a daily occurrence) and for being as passionate about the Packers as we are. Without you, this is just a couple of guys and gals yellin' into the wind. So thanks.

We've got lots in store for the upcoming season - Corey is working on both a CHTV redesign and a dedicated Cheesehead Nation site (think kind of like a Facebook for Packer fans. Seriously, it's awesome.) I'm (hopefully) going to be at the Combine and will definitely be at the draft here in New York, with Mr. Carriveau hopefully joining me in Indy and definitely joining in from Green Bay for the draft. We'll have the most comprehensive offseason coverage any Cheesehead could ask for, both of the Packers and the NFL. So be sure to check in early and often.

Thanks again. Go Pack Go.

Greatly appreciated, Aaron. Also, thanks for tolerating our visceral fits from time-to-time. Looking forward to the combine and draft.

Here's to hoping all parties can get a CBA in place ASAP.

Cheers!

aaron, this site is without a doubt the very best thing next to attending a packer game (or is it? lol) but seriously this year being part of the rambling here on CHTV was great, and cannot wait for what next year brings us, specially now that we got us a pro bowl QB!!

I found this site at the beginning of the season, and it sounds like I came at the right time.

Anyway, you guys are probably the only reason I'm still sane coming off my first semester of highschool, so thank you for that. :)

I found you guys on Itunes almost three years ago, and have been addicted ever since. While other blogs have gone on the wayside (oh, how I miss Booze and Broads!) it's amazing to see the growth you have experienced. THANK YOU for making last year's draft entertaining. I am so glad it's coming up pretty soon.

Thanks for a great year Aaron and Corey, I really enjoyed it.

A-Nag,

Saw your posts on the Tom P. chat transcript @ the GBPG. Gotta say, I agree we need to build our O-line, but I don't agree with-

" [Comment From RobRob: ]
we have the backs we just need to improve the line so we can get more open lanes and bigger gaps to run through"

" [Comment From Aaron NaglerAaron Nagler: ]
Bingo Rob. Bing. Go."-

I take that agreement with Rob to mean that you're satisfied with the diversity in our backfield?

Grant is good. I want great. I want someone who the opposing team MUST game-plan for. IMO Ryan GRANT doesn't scare anyone. Not that there are any guarantees drafting a Best or Spiller type, I just get a stiffy thinking of the doors having a "Chris Johnson" type guy on our team would open... pipedream?

Fitz - re: the running backs. Yes, I am more than happy with the talent in the backfield, and I agree that if a 'great' back falls into their laps, I would love the Pack to grab him. But the offense is run through Rodgers and the pass. No matter how much lip service McCarthy pays to wanting to run the football, he will always be a pass-first guy. They will always pass to set up the run. They have enough needs everywhere else - but that said, if Spiller or Best fell to them Thompson would at least have to think about it. But much more than another back, they need a cohesive offensive line that doesn't allow defenses to string out stretch plays or blow up inside zone plays for 3 or 4 yard losses.

checking in everyday is the easy part. It is you guys [aaron, corey, brian and holly] that do all the hard yards and we should be thanking you. We get bugger all coverage of the nfl in australia and you guys not only teach me but keep me informed so it is me that is deeply gratefull for all your hard work.

You better book your tickets to Dallas Feb. 6, 2011, because we'll go all the way next year, and you'll be the man (And Corey) covering the game live!

Just put a hundo on the GBP to win it all next year @ 13:1. Only a handful of teams are favored ahead of them, hope they don't get big heads.

Love this site and the entire Cheesehead Nation partnership. It brought a whole new atmosphere to following Packers football on a weekly basis dating all the way back to little scraps of information via Twitter during OTAs and Mini Camps to the full blown productions of the podcasts with guest interviews.

Great stuff all the way around.

Thank you and looking forward to next year already.

This might be an interesting post (if not already covered somewhere)... did TT make the right call on head coaches??! We had an opportunity to get Sean Payton as head coach -who took a 3-13 team to the Superbowl in 4 years- instead of MM (who has no playoff wins since Favre's departure). see link. Even Wade Phillips and Childress in the mix! lol.

Agree with all the comments above, plus will add this - keeping in touch with the packers over the past 15 years or so has been a real pain with work, family and lack of decent coverage but since finding this site just over a year ago it has become a lot easier. Even if I don't contribute much, know that the blog is a daily read for me and the addition of real fans opinions instead of just what I read on jsonline (with what time I get) has really added to the experience of the game. The live blogs in particular have made this season the most enjoyable one I have had since moving over here.

p.s Apologies to Andrew in Atlanta for ripping off your screen name, it was the first one I saw when I first visited the site

Aaron, Corey and gang...This site rocks, I just found it week 8 when I read an article on Rtsports.com in relation to chtv and Favre returning to GB. Great insight on many Green Bay Packer topics of discussion. Keep up the great work!

Aaron,

Cohesion on the O-line is obviously only going to help production,From the pasing game to the run game, I totally agree.

What I don't agree with is the acceptance of the talent currently on the roster (RB).

Like I said, Grant is what he is, a fairly sure-handed "RELIABLE" back, I like the guy. Jackson is making strides and looks to have a future as a 3rd down back.

Now I know Grant has broke a couple long runs and I might get called on this, but, WHERE'S THE EXPLOSION in the backfield?

Riddle me this A-man,

If given a stellar O-line, which one of the following do you think would keep a Dick Lebeau or a Rex Ryan up at night trying to game-plan for? Grant, Jackson, Wynn, Lumpy... Green perhaps?

My answer is none of the above.

I think there is some serviceable/mostly average talent there. Nothing more, nothing less.

If we can get a starting OT @ 23, gotta pull the trigger. If three or four are off the board and we may be reaching, I'd rather we went another route, possibly getting a gamebreaker.

For a total curve-ball, I'd also be ecstatic if we could find a partner in crime for Clay on the other side. Improved pass-rush will only help the secondary.

In summation, I don't know what I want.

I really just want a good player, WE'RE ONLY A COUPLE AWAY!
