Week Two Gut Reactions
By PackerAaron
- Yes, that was McCarthy, Sanders and Rodgers all losing focus at the same time
- Charles Woodson is a beast and should be the one covering T.O. next week. Of course this means he won't be
- Yes Tramon Williams got beat but he is still a very good corner
- Jarrett Bush is not
- Did you notice Jason Hunter lined up at defensive tackle? He got good pressure as well
- Aaron Kampman is Superman, Batman and a dash of Wolverine.
- Cullen Jenkins is more like Robin.
- Is it just me or did Jennings and Driver look a tad bit impatient with Rodgers a couple times?
- McCarthy started four straight series in the second half with the same off-tackle running play.
- Will Blackmon is fun to watch
- Jordy Nelson - Welcome to the NFL!
- The pass rush is nice to see - but McCarthy and Sanders need to get the defensive line more help or it will end up wearing down just like last year
- For example, lets see more of the Amazing Flying A.J. Hawk please
- Is Aaron Rodgers the perfect quarterback for this system? Sure seems so...
- The Packers are all alone in first place - right where they belong

My (recurring) thought after watching Rodgers' post-game interview: this guy gives credit where it's due, and that's great to see.
I hope they can take care of some of those glaring (GLARING) mistakes this week, and I look forward to a rumble next Sunday night.

Not sure what you mean when you say "The pass rush is nice to see - but McCarthy and Sanders need to get the defensive line more help or it will end up wearing down just like last year"
More help in the LB's or DB's blitzing? How will that not wear them down - are you saying that the DL can take plays off when we're blitzing our back 7? That' does not make sense.
They already rotate the DL so they are doing all they can not to wear them down. The reason the pass rush failed last year was because KGB was never the same after he hurt his ankle and he was major pressure from one end.
Please don't tell me you are using that hack Bedard's logic on the wearing down of lineman.

Yes, I happen to agree with that hack. ;) You can't deny that historically it happens in this scheme. Using the D-line to eat space for blitzing DBs and LBs every few downs will indeed reduce wear and tear on the D-line. And I disagree with your assertion that KGB's injury was the sole reason for the failing of the pass rush at the end of the year. Kampman had many 1st and 2nd down sacks at the beginning of the year (much like the first two weeks this year) and then disappeared down the stretch. He wore down.

As for the flying Hawk last I look it was illegal to leave your feet and hit the quaterback (the Aikman rule) we might have gotten away with that one.

Ahhh- but he contacted a blocker before he touched the QB :)
